For a person affected by a disaster, your donation can turn into a life-saving miracle. To help you in your altruistic agenda, the Times of India Relief Fund acts as an instrument of your goodwill during calamities and disasters. Keep a lookout for appeals made by TOIRF through the various publications of the Times Group. Then, send in your donations to any of the Times Group offices throughout India after a Times Relief Fund is announced. Donations Help can be extended in the form of donations. Cheques/demand drafts/pay orders should be drawn in favour of "The Times of India Relief Fund''. During any relief operation launched by TOIRF, donations/aid can be deposited at any of the Times Group Offices throughout India. Donations in India: By donating
to The Times of India Relief Fund, you also save taxes. Donations made by Indian nationals to The Times of India Relief Fund for providing relief to Gujarat Earthquake victims are entitled to a 100% deduction under Section 80G of the Income-Tax Act 1961. Deduction in respect of Donation U/S 80 G: In computing the total income-tax, the person donating is allowed a deduction under Section 80 G at 50% of the amount donated. The deduction is restricted to 10% of the gross total income. The person donating will be given a receipt in original and copy of the 80 G exemption certificate. The same is to be submitted along with the return of income. |

Donations Outside India/ Customs Rules and Formalities in India: A person sending donations in kind will have to complete the Customs formalities of his country. If any documents are required from us, we shall be pleased to extend the necessary help. Foodstuff, medicines, clothing & blankets imported by charitable organisations as free gifts are exempted from payments of customs duty subject to following conditions:
